There seems to a kind of binding and cooperative force that exists within groups of nanotubes. This is not the case with individual tubes. It is like the bond between groups of living beings. The relation binds them together. But what is it with nanotubes?
This mysterious force was observed when the nanotubes are tested for their fatigue. The nanotubes are compressed over and again. Every second for over 100 hours. But they found that the groups of nanotubes are regaining their original shape even after hundreds of thousands of repetitive compressions.
The researches found that when the nanotubes are compressed they become like zigzag tubes. They are actually getting compressed and the shape is modified under the application of pressure. But immediately after releasing the pressure they are able to regain their original shape exactly as they were before. This recovery from exhaustive fatigue has attracted lot of researches and has become an important property of nanotubes.
Now researchers think that this property can be used to create artificial muscles. Why because the muscles respond by expanding after a stimulus. This is rather a smooth motion than a jerky one unlike with electric motors or pneumatic devices. Thus nanotubes are found to be useful for building artificial muscles. They are like the intricate structures found in the human body.
The invention of nanotubes has been really intriguing as they are the most advanced technology available today.
The same is not applicable with individual nanotubes. The researchers found this fatigue recovery property only with large groups of nanotubes rather than individual nanotubes. They did not understand the reason for this. There seems to some kind of mysterious force that binds them and lets them cooperate under pressure.

Where Can We Find the Golden Ratio in Real Life?
The golden ratio has a special significance for many artists, architects and mathematicians as well. Because of its interesting properties it has been used in many real life situations.
The various artists have used the golden ratio as a rectangle. An artist uses it to size the portrait or landscape. The golden ratio comes when the ratio of the longer side of the rectangle to the shorter side is equal to ratio of the sum of both sides to the longer side. It has many unique properties as well and hence attracted the attention of mathematicians.
Many terms are there which refer to this ratio. For example, golden section, golden cut, mean of Phidias, extreme ratio, divine proportion etc. The exact value of this is determined to be (1 + square_root(5) ) / 2. Thus it is an irrational number. Its approximately equal to 1.618.
The Parthenon was constructed to indicate the golden ratio in its architecture. Its rectangular shape and all the rectangles present in it are having the golden ratio embedded in them.
The most famous Fibonacci series has the golden ratio in relation the ratio of the successive Fibonacci numbers.
Some spiral plants like phyllotaxis go also have a Fibonacci relationship and hence golden ratio coming into picture.
The Great pyramid of Gaza also includes the golden ratio in its inclination angle.
Some text books and note books have golden ratio in their size.
The Visa and Master Card are designed with golden ratio. This is done because the research found that the golden ratio gives beauty to the objects.

Children Born with Blindness Could be Protected Through Proper Diet of Mother
The children’s eyes are vulnerable for damage because of the vessel growth in the eye. Children who are at risk for vision loss could be protected through proper diet.
The children get their diet from mother. So the diet of mother is essential for controlling the damaging vessel growth in the eyes of the children. A study revealed that the omega-3 fatty acids have beneficial effects on the eyes. Currently this study is done in mice. The Children’s Hospital at Boston has plans to test it on children.
There are three reasons for blindness. One is the abnormal vessel growth in the eyes of premature babies. The others are adult diabetic retinopathy and wet age-related macular degeneration. The retina is affected when a child is affected with retinopathy. Thousands of children are affected with retinopathy every year. The retina, which sends visual signals to the brain, is an essential part for a functioning eye. The disease begins with the loss of blood vessels in the retina. Because of this the retina starts growing new vessels to avoid the deficiency of oxygen to it. These may grow abnormally, and overabundant. They malfunction and lead to blindness.
The only solution that is found for this is the omega-3 fatty acids containing DHA and EPA acids. These are present very less in the children. There is also omega-6 fatty acid which actually increases the vessel growth. Hence a balanced ratio of these two acids needs to be maintained through diet. The research found that many children have lesser omega-3 fatty acids compared to omega-6 acids. Hence fish-oil supplements are required in the diet of the child. As this problem occurs especially in premature infants the diet of mother needs to be enriched with fish-oil supplements.

Have we learnt from “The Day After Tomorrow” – Part two
Let me continue after the previous post – part one.
The most important thing that is depicted in the movie is the climate change that starts because of global warming. There seems to be like that climate change has already started. There flooding of rivers in India is increasing every year. The untimely seasons are also effect of this. Still it doesn’t motivate us to make a move.
Increasing usage of motor vehicles which pollute the environment heavily is considered as a notable cause and many organizations are trying to make people aware of it. The usage of common vehicles like buses must be encouraged by the government. Some cities have already made plans for that. Delhi has allowed many private buses called blue line buses to transport commuter in the city. But the problem it faced was that these privately run buses have recruited inexperienced drivers. This resulted in many accidents to count more than 50 deaths in a week. Note that Delhi is also the city where the first meeting was held for global warming prevention in the movie “The Day After Tomorrow”.
The biggest obstacle for the move against global warming is that it affects many countries economically. That is the reason why the developing countries are worried about stopping destruction of environment. In the Terminator 2 movie, the terminator says at one point time that ‘it is in your nature to hurt yourself’. The biggest people lose the big picture of the society and environment and forget the small people. Thus the initiative must start from the biggest people.
Though there are troubles in making a move against global warming we must use our intelligence and courage to find solutions to avoid the global disaster for the mankind.

Have we learnt from “The Day After Tomorrow” – Part one
The Day After Tomorrow has been a great movie in the science fiction genre as well as in the moral sense. It was a very good movie to forecast a future disaster which we all have to face. But have yet learnt the moral from this great movie?
I never before had watched this movie. But after reading about global warming and the future disasters I found that this movie is about the dangerous effects of global warming on our lives. After that I had watched the movie. I liked it very much as it portrays the disaster very well to grab the attention of any sensible human being.
Many critics acclaimed the movie to be a great show but criticized it only for some technical inaccuracies. For example, the occurrence of tornadoes is not predicted by the scientists with regard to global warming. But the after effects like immediate freezing are accurately depicted. Then the few people trying to get warmth in the library building without a chimney was a fault.
After all this the main intent of the movie was to make everyone aware of the global disaster that is going to happen to man for all his misdoings with the mother nature. The lessons we need to learn are not yet learnt in the modern society. It is so simple to understand that we should not spoil our environment just for some sort of comfortability. But there are only few people or few organizations or few countries which have seriously taken the initiative to stop the misuse of nature.
The most polluters in the world are found to be India and China. They are the present hot spots for a booming economy. And the experts do warn heavily that their rivers will rise in levels to cause more disaster to their own growth.
I will continue the rest in the part two.

Visit the center of the world
When you are having a business trip across continents why don’t you make a visit to the center of the world. I meant the city of London the timing GMT of which is considered to be the world standard time. In that sense the term center of the world is appropriate.
What all is there to visit in London? The great capital of Great Britain is not without attractions. Many movies are filmed with the attractions of this city. Travelers may come from other parts of United Kingdom including Birmingham or Manchester. This will let them get the advantage of taking affordable accommodation in these places. The hotels in London make it comfortable to visit this city.
The notable places of attraction in London include the Tower Bridge featured in many motion pictures, St Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Palace. Westminster palace is one of the oldest architectures in the history of United Kingdom. This was built in 18th century and got fires. But it was rebuilt later. This palace is one of the largest parliaments in the world. It’s worth taking a look at its intricate layout.
For making a visit to these cities, take accommodation at hotels in Manchester and hotels in Birmingham. There are also luxury hotels available in London’s West End. Hyde Park and Mayfair offer these luxurious accommodations. Or go for affordable hotels such as Bayswater, Victoria or Paddington etc. These ensure a pleasant stay and a pleasant tour of the city.

Drink Tomato Soup. Discover Why?
Latest research reveals the direct beneficial effect of tomato on men’s health. So take tomato soup regularly to achieve that benefit. What benefit is tomato giving compared to other fruits or veggies?
The tomato soup has many beneficial effects on the human body. Besides that, it is sweet and sour at the same time. That makes this vegetable great for many dishes. It is known that the tomatoes contain antioxidants which are used for treatment of cancer, heart strokes and neurodegenerative diseases. There is a special benefit for men from the tomatoes.
The same tomatoes are found to improve the fertility in men. The lycopene present in tomatoes is found to boost the fertility. The researchers have studied the effect of tomato soup regularly in men for two weeks. They discovered that the level of lycopene in their semen has risen significantly. The study found that the antioxidants from these tomatoes help improve fertility by popping up harmful free radicals in the body.
There is a plan yet for the same research to carry out on the men with infertility. This will let us know how beneficial it for infertility problem.
Papaya, watermelon, guava, grapefruit also do contain lycopene and imply that they are also useful for boosting infertility.
